The Knowledge Graph Alliance (KGA) is excited to announce the 1st General Assembly, a member-only event set to take place on April 18-19, 2024, at Cranfield University, United Kingdom. 

The General Assembly on April 18th is pivotal for the future of KGA, featuring the approval of statutes, the election of the Board of Directors, and the budget presentation. These activities are fundamental to establishing a strong foundation for the alliance’s strategic direction and operational effectiveness.

KG-AI Summit: On April 19th, the summit will continue with a dynamic workshop. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from distinguished keynote speakers and experts in the domains of semantics and knowledge graph technology. The workshop aims to foster innovation, share cutting-edge research, and explore practical applications. It will also introduce participants to the KGA’s upcoming initiatives and facilitate interaction with leading software vendors. For more information, click here.

Participation and Voting Members are encouraged to actively participate in the General Assembly and workshop. Key actions include reviewing the KGA statutes, proposing amendments, and voting in the elections for the Board of Directors. These participatory processes ensure that members have a voice in the alliance’s governance and future endeavours.

Note to members:

In preparation for the KGA GA, please familiarise yourself with Article IV.2 on the rights and responsibilities vested in the General Assembly. Whether you are an individual member or represent an organisation, your vote helps steer the direction of the KGA. Statutes and Amendments: The General Assembly is empowered to vote on any amendments to the existing statutes (Article IV.2 § 14 (5)). You can review the current statutes at https://www.kg-alliance.org/statutes/. Should you wish to propose an amendment, please submit your suggestions via https://forms.gle/PMvAWddECu6qeuwg9 by March 31st, COB Organisational members are reminded to coordinate with their designated representatives regarding submissions. Online voting on proposed amendments will commence on April 1st, in advance of General Assembly’s approval of the statutes on April 18th. Election of Board of Directors: The GA will elect the majority of the board, specifically 6 out of 10 members (Article IV.4 § 1). All full members are eligible to stand for election (Article IV.4 § 2). To declare your candidacy, please email the KGA President at president@kg-alliance.org, with a courtesy copy to the Vice President at vice.president@kg-alliance.org and the CEO at ceo@kg-alliance.org, including a formal expression of interest, a portrait, a brief overview of your background, and your motivation for joining the Board of Directors, by March 31st, 2024. Initial online voting for board candidates will open on April 7th.

The closest airport to Cranfield University is London Luton. London Heathrow has good National Express bus links to Milton Keynes (around 2 hours), from where you may take a short bus or taxi ride to the Cranfield University site. London Gatwick has good links to Bedford with the Thameslink trains (around 1h45m). The Institute of Materials (IOM3) is in London Euston. From London Euston trains run directly to Milton Keynes (45m) or Bedford (1h), from where buses run regularly to Cranfield University. Hotels
